Performers serious about exploring the art of acting are assigned roles in short plays and monologues to emphasize working in a professional environment. Beginners are challenged with learning lines and blocking. Advanced actors can delve in to the emotional life of the character and gain a finer understanding of how to manipulate stage space. Audition, rehearse, and perform in Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland. Go down the rabbit hole with Alice, attend an "unbirthday" party, and drink tea with the Mad Hatter and the White Rabbit. Enrollment guarantees a part in the play.

Red is not afraid of anything, even the big bad wolf. But when her granny falls ill, fearless Red is forced to confront her one weakness-magic. With the help of a blond, porridge-sampling nuisance called Goldie, Red goes on a quest to cure Granny. Audition for roles, learn your lines, practice your blocking, and get ready to take the stage!
SUM24 Toy Stories

SUM24 Audition Workshop
Grades 5-8, 9:00 AM-4:00 PM, July 1-3 · $165 Subscribers/$175 Non-Subscribers
The 2024-25 Season will be announced soon, and includes great titles with roles for young people. Work with Playhouse directors to get the experience necessary to be comfortable and successful in auditions. Participation in the course does not guarantee a role but will acquaint students with scenes from the shows, available roles and audition procedures used at The Playhouse. We’ll also learn how to navigate a dance audition and how to pick an audition song.
*Due to the unique structure of this camp, there will not be a parent sharing at the end of the class session.
