Des Moines Community Playhouse

Penguin+ Wizard of Oz Youth Edition is an introductory theatre class for youth with disabilities, ages 10–13, who are just beginning their theatre journey.

The program runs for 11 Tuesdays from November 3, 2026, to January 12, 2027, from 6:00–7:30 PM. A family showcase will be held on the final day of class.

Participants will build foundational theatre skills such as acting, vocal work, and stage presence in a fun, supportive environment. Each Artist will be paired with a Mentor who learns alongside them, offering friendship and encouragement throughout the process.

The program concludes with a 30-minute performance featuring short scenes and songs from Wizard of Oz Youth Edition, giving young performers a chance to shine and share what they've learned.
