On Wednesdays we array ourselves in pink! Mean Girls gets an Elizabethan makeover in this totally fetch comedy about North Shore High’s queen bees and wannabes. Shakespeare didn’t pen this classic story of rivalries, betrayal, jealousy, obsession, and fastidious rule-making about when one can and cannot wear sweatpants, but he could have.

Performers serious about exploring the art of acting are assigned roles in short plays and monologues to emphasize working in a professional environment. Beginners are challenged with learning lines and blocking. Advanced actors can delve in to the emotional life of the character and gain a finer understanding of how to manipulate stage space. Be ready to give it your all!

The 2024-25 Season will be announced soon, and includes great titles with roles for young people. Work with Playhouse directors to get the experience necessary to be comfortable and successful in auditions. Participation in the course does not guarantee a role but will acquaint students with scenes from the shows, available roles and audition procedures used at The Playhouse. We’ll also learn how to navigate a dance audition and how to pick an audition song.

*Due to the unique structure of this camp, there will not be a parent sharing at the end of the class session.
